meet the music teacher
Lorraine Pitre, (RMT, UMTC) teaches private Clarinet, Saxophone and Theory lessons in her home studio in Dorval and as part of the Music Ministry program of Dorval-Strathmore United Church. She has also been an instructor with the McGill Conservatory of Music for over 20 years. In addition, she offers group Clarinet and Saxophone workshops at several schools in the Montreal and outlying areas. Recently she was the Music teacher at Emmanuel Christian School in Dollard and Evergreen Elementary School in Saint Lazare. She is a regular substitute band teacher at various other schools as well.
For the past several years, Lorraine has directed the 2 week Third Session of Camp Musical d'Asbestos. While in the Bachelor of Music in Performance program at McGill University, she studied Clarinet with Michael Dumouchel of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra and Saxophone with the late Gerald Danovitch.
In her spare time (!!!) Lorraine plays in various pick-up orchestras throughout Montreal and the West Island and is the founder of The Mimosa Wind Ensemble, The Six Wing Combo and The Capricious Winds. She is thrilled to be working with the fabulous students in Vincent Massey Collegiate's Big Band Theory!!
