Holiday Clothing Drive
Dear Parents,
For more than 100 years, the Old Brewery Mission has provided Emergency Services for homeless men and women in Montreal such as a safe refuge from the street, nourishing meals, warm showers and clean clothing. One of the services offered by the mission is providing much needed clothing to the men and women who visit the shelter.
Thank you in advance for your support of this Holiday Clothing Drive.
Regards,
J. Pevec
Principal
Brief
Dear Parents,
As you are aware, the Governing Board of Vincent Massey Collegiate (“VMC”) submitted its Brief to the Council of Commissioners on November 10, 2011, further to the following proposals by the Long Range Planning Committee of the English Montreal School Board regarding VMC:
i) scenario one: the relocation of Vincent Massey Collegiate students and staff to Pius to share the facility with Pius Culinary Institute and Paul VI High School;
ii) scenario two: the building of a gymnasium at Vincent Massey Collegiate present location.
The Brief submitted by the Governing Board of Vincent Massey Collegiate, reflective of the overall position of the Vincent Massey Collegiate parent, teacher and student community, presented arguments which unequivocally support scenario two.
To the extent that you are in favor of scenario two, we strongly encourage you to let the school commissioner of the ward in which you live, know your position by writing to him/her. We have attached a list of the commissioners and their email addresses so that a simple e-mail can be sent. Please send your e-mail prior to December 5, 2011, when the Brief will be discussed by the Commissioners (with the ultimate vote taking place on January 11, 2012). You can verify the identity of the commissioner of your ward by going to the following site: http://www.emsb.qc.ca/en/governance_en/pages/commissioners.asp
When you send your e-mail, please Cc. the Chairperson of the Council of Commissioners, Angela Mancini, at Angela.mancini@emsb.qc.ca as well as the Chairperson of the VMC Governing Board, Chiara Panetta, at panettac@videotron.ca
We have provided for your convenience, the sample of a text which you can use in your e-mail:
